The Great Canadian Dream
Here’s what I’m thinking: If I were to own a laptop of some kind, I’d be able to sit in a small, uncrowded coffee shop and write some pretty amazing stories, and write in an electronic journal, and mix MP3s and all that kind of jazz. I’d also be poor again, but that’s not a problem. I’m not worried about being poor — Number one: I’m not. Number two: it’s not a stigma for me at all, and I live alone, with out many needs. High-speed internet and food are all I really need.
Sure I’m a hypocrite. I’m a materialistic socialist living an austere capitalist lifestyle. The Great Canadian Dream.
Picked up "Videodrome" last night on DVD — what a cewl flick. Shot in Toronto, about a small television station which has to show porn to get any ratings at all (CityTV), the film hits very close to home. Directed by David Cronenberg, and staring James Woods and Deborah Harry, this film is a cult classic, and I’m glad to have found it.
