Long day in Tronna
Had to go to Toronto today to do some business work. To get ahead of traffic, I left about 6am, picked up a co-worker and headed out on the 401. Three hours later, we stumbled into the customer’s site, hungry, cold, and savage. The weather really caused some problems for those who normally commute on that corridor. We passed probably 20 accident sites, most as a result of excess speeding.
Once we got there, my co-worker returned home, since he missed his meeting, and I sent 8 hours installing and configuring FreeBSD servers. As a bit of a joke, the customer gave me only one monitor, one keyboard, and two power cables (and no IP addresses, for that matter), so the installation took much longer than it needed to.
