FCC slaps $15.000 fine on VoIP blocking company

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) charged rural North Carolina Local Exchange Carrier (LEC) with a $15.000 fine. It appears Madison River Communications blocked Voice over IP (VoIP) calls to their customers.
Telephone company, Madison River Communications will pay $15,000 to settle allegations that it blocked phone lines that customers used to make calls over the Internet, US federal regulators said Thursday.
