Working late
Some customer suckered me into doing an install on his Linux box by pretending he knew nothing about Linux. (sigh) So I’m still here at work, trying to login to his machine. I just sent a reboot signal to it, and now all is quiet. I had just changed a bunch of settings required by our software — switching some partitions to ReiserFS and disabling indexing of large directories, etc… The last thing I needed to do was to disable some unnecessary (and insecure) services. Hopefully this machine will come back online in the next little while.
