I have a new door.
I have a new door.
Well, the toil was worth the trouble. My new studio door is in place and looking good. I’m going to get a picture uploaded later, but once the hinges were screwed in, the rest of the door stayed level and plumb. The concrete screws worked really well, and I even used some larger 1/4″x3″ screws to hold the deadbolt in place, not that a door with a big window is very secure to begin with. I also emptied a whole can of expanding foam in the cavities around the frame, which is a whole lot better insulation than the previous door had (read: no insulation). It seals well, swings open just fine, and you can even slam it when you’re mad.
This weekend, weather-permitting, I’ll get the window put in place, and maybe even finish up insulating the loft.
